About EAMST
The European Association of Musculoskeletal Transplantation (EAMST) is organised exclusively for educational and scientific
purposes and operates on a non-profit basis, being governed by the Belgian law
of October 25th, 1919.
Limited to these purposes, the Association shall have the following
specific objectives and powers :
- to promote research and disseminate by appropriate means (meetings, publications
etc.) knowledge in the field of musculoskeletal preservation and transplantation
;
- to promote basic scientific and technical knowledge concerning the procurement,
processing, storage, transplantation and clinical aspects of musculoskeletal
tissue ;
- to encourage the voluntary donation of musculoskeletal tissues for clinical
and research purposes ;
- to make available through regional musculoskeletal bank programs a safe
adequate and economical supply of musculoskeletal tissues for clinical and
research purposes ;
- to establish codes and standards for preservation of musculoskeletal tissues
for clinical of research purposes ;
- to foster cooperation in clinical research programs amongst European musculoskeletal
tissue banks and clinical centres ;
- to do all and everything necessary, suitable, or proper for the accomplishment
or furtherance of any part of the purposes herein above set forth.
The head office is based at Avenue Mounier 53 in 1200 Brussels (Belgium).
It can be moved elsewhere in Belgium at any time, the decision being taken
by the Executive Board. This decision would take effect once published in the
"Annexe du Moniteur Belge".
